The Purchasing Agent will manage and own all inventories for the organization. This position will initiate purchase orders based on business need and stock requirements per company policy and procedures. Will work across departments and with leadership to make independent decisions to be initiative-taking on all inventory using proper analysis and evaluation of inventory health to meet the expectation of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Ownership of all inventories
- Procure materials by establishing optimum inventory levels.
- Planning inventory which meets both the dealer and organization targets
- Monitor inventory, shipping and receiving transactions for accuracy.
- Review backlog sale records and maintain promise-to-receive dates in ERP system.
- Consistently analyzing and verify product, quantities, and safety stock
- Ensure inventory accuracy between MUTOH America, Inc., and third-party warehouse.
- Analyze and evaluate inventory health and inventory turn.
- Proactively identify and resolve supply chain issues.
- Provide weekly reports to management to review supply chain, update forecasts, review dealer usage trend against forecasts, and expedite urgent shipments.
- Increase vendor communication and work to reduce freight cost.
- Collaborate with Management, Sales, Warehouse, and overseas team to resolve outstanding issues timely to fulfill customer requirements and expectations.
- Prepare Supply Chain analysis reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintain complete updated purchasing records/data and pricing to include kits, in the ERP system.
- Maintain quality service by following organization standards.
- Collaborate with other functions to improve processes.
Requirements
- Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
- Meticulous, financially literate, and highly organized.
- Good negotiation, communication (oral and written), analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Experience with international manufacturing companies is preferred.
- ERP system or planning system experience necessary, Great Plains preferred.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced excel necessary.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport immediately and maintain a healthy balance of firmness and likability.
- Maybe required to travel frequently to third party warehouse.
Education/Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in purchasing or procurement is required, manufacturer experience preferred.
- Associate Degree in Business with strong supply chain experience, bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift fifteen (15) pounds at a time.
- Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs.
